Below are the rates the Texas A&M Research Foundation (Foundation) charges for administrating research projects. The methodology for determining the rates was developed in 2007 through a series of meetings with representatives within The Texas A&M University System. The System members represented included Texas A&M University (TAMU) also representing Texas A&M at Galveston (TAMUG), Texas Agriculture Experiment Station (TAES), Texas Transportation Institute (TTI), The Texas A&M University Health Science Center (HSC).

Through these meetings, a fee for service cost model was developed that is based on core services and volume of activity handled by TAMRF for each System Member. As depicted in the table below the rates vary by System Member with the higher volume customers of the Foundation being charged at a lower rate. Cost sharing activities are not included in the rate calculation. The Foundation's fees are not applied to cost sharing activities.

The methodology used in FY07 of charging the below rates to direct expenditures on each project will be used in FY08 with one change. Expenditures greater than $500,000 per sub award will not be subject to the fee for service. Expenditures on a sub award that incurs expenditures less than or equal to $500,000 will be subject to the service fee.

To determine the amount the Foundation will charge for administering your research project, multiple the rate shown for your organization by the estimated direct expenditures for your project less any amounts per sub award greater than $500,000.

For Example, assume you are attached to TTI and have a project with $1,000,000 of direct expenditures including $850,000 in sub award for FY 2008. The Foundation would charge $57,135 to administer your project.
