Frequently
Asked Questions
I
dont know who my Proposal Administrator is. How may I find
out?
Check
the list of Proposal Administrators
for more information; the chart shows the departments each Proposal
Administrator handles. If that does not help, please contact the
Preaward Hotline at 979-571-9489.

The
link in my Proposal for your Review and Approval email
is not working or not there. How can I fix this?
If
the link is there, but not working, you should first check and make
sure that your email client is configured to show HTML. Your IT
department will be able to better answer questions about how your
computer is configured. Please note: if you are using an internet-based
email client such as Gmail or Hotmail, these clients are configured
to view HTML by default.
If
the link is missing, check your email browsers settings (or
check with your IT department) to ensure that hyperlinks are not
being filtered out of incoming email.
If
these solutions do not work, please contact TAMRF e-RAMP Help Desk
at e-RAMP@rf-mail.tamu.edu
or at 979-845-8375.

I
am not getting the Proposal for your Review and Approval
emails. Can I still review and approve a proposal without it?
Yes
you can. Directions on how to do this may be found here.

I
cant approve a proposal because it keeps telling me that I
need to save the changes. How can I fix this?
First
try clicking on the icon at the top of the Reviewer Dashboard to
save your changes.
If
that does not fix it, then you are trapped in what we refer to as
the save bug. This rare error occurs to a very small
number of both PC and Macintosh users who are using Mozilla Firefox
as their internet browser. We are working on pinpointing the problem,
but believe that it is due to java script settings.
If
you encounter the "save bug": Please contact TAMRF e-RAMP
Help Desk at e-RAMP@rf-mail.tamu.edu
or at 979-845-8375 so that we can gather information about your
computer and its settings.
The
only solution that works currently is to use a different browser
for proposal approval. Please see the following FAQ for more information
on other approved browsers.
We
apologize for the inconvenience and are working diligently to resolve
this problem.

My
internet browser is not working correctly with InfoEd. What browsers
are recommended for use with InfoEd?
PC
users can use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5+, Netscape Navigator
6+, and Mozilla Firefox.
- No
problems have been reported by users accessing InfoEd with Internet
Explorer or Netscape Navigator
- A
small number of people using Firefox not been able to enter a
decision because InfoEd continues to prompt them to save changes.
We are working on pinpointing the problem, but believe that it
is due to java script settings. If you encounter this bug: please
contact
TAMRF e-RAMP Help Desk at e-RAMP@rf-mail.tamu.edu
or at 979-845-8375. If you experience this problem, you will also
have to use one of the other browsers to review the proposal.

- InfoEd
has not certified Safari for official use, but we have found that
it can be used to review proposals if another browser is not working
properly, with one minor quirk. Safari does not recognize the
image skin overlaid on the InfoEd buttons that serves
as a label. Because of this, you cannot click the text section
of the button to activate it; instead click on the blank space
on either side of the text.
