PREAWARD
/ PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
The
Research Foundation's Program Development Department provides
assistance to researchers at Texas A&M in identifying
and contacting potential sponsors and distributes information
on funding opportunities.
A
number of publications, including the FedBizOpps/Commerce
Business Daily and the Federal Register, as well
as agency web sites and Grants.Gov are reviewed on a regular
basis. Announcements of new opportunities for funding are
sent to researchers who may have an interest.
Searches of funding opportunity databases are performed for
faculty upon request. These computerized databases provide
details on thousands of available academic grant programs
offered by government, commercial organizations, associations
and private foundations.
Researchers may receive automatic e-mail notifications of
funding opportunities through SPIN/SMARTS. This service is
available through the Research Foundation's InfoEd eRA Portal.
For information on how to set up your profile, see the InfoEd
Reference Guide. Access it at the Research Foundation's web
page under "FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES".
Texas
A&M subscribes to Community of Science. The Federal
Register, the FedBizOpps/Commerce Business Daily,
and a Funding Opportunity Database can be found at the Community
of Science (COS) web site, www.cos.com.
Faculty
and research scientists may apply for funds to cover travel
expenses, up to $1,500, associated with visits to potential
sponsors of research. The Office of the Vice President for
Research, Texas A&M Research Foundation, and Texas Engineering
Experiment Station support this Travel Award Program. The
deadline is the 1st Friday of each month. For more information
about Travel Awards, see http://vpr.tamu.edu/osp/TAPRFP.htm
or contact Mr. Rickie Fletcher in the Office of Sponsored
Projects at 845-1811.
