H. JARRELL GIBBS
H.
Jarrell Gibbs is presently active in private investments.
He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Texas A&M Research
Foundation, York College and a member of the Board of Directors
of TenX Technologies, a private corporation. Mr. Gibbs also
serves as Chairman for the Aggie Spirit Development Council
in Texas A&M University's "One Spirit One Vision"
one billion dollar capital campaign; is a member of the Board
of Visitors for the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets; the Advisory
Council for the Texas A&M Health Science Center College
of Medicine Leadership Council; the Texas A&M Corps of
Cadets Leadership Council; and the Corps Development Council.
He
is retired President of TXU Corp. having served for 22 years
in various executive positions including Vice Chairman and
President of TXU Corp., President of TXU Electric and TXU
Business Services, Chief Financial Officer of TXU Corp. and
Executive Vice President & General Manager of Texas Electric
Service Division of TXU Electric. As such, Mr. Gibbs' career
with TXU included senior management positions responsible
for strategy, mergers & acquisitions, business development,
finance and administration, legislative affairs, marketing
and operations.
Prior
to joining TXU in 1980, he served over 20 years in the U.S.
Army. During that period, he commanded units on three continents,
was an artillery battalion commander in the First Cavalry
Division and served two tours in Vietnam. His last assignment
was with the Army General Staff in the Pentagon working with
members of the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S.
Senate for approval of the Army's annual budget request.
Mr.
Gibbs has previously served as a director for Nuclear Emergency
Insurance Limited, PennVirginia Corp., a public oil and gas
exploration and production company, and Quanta Services, Inc.,
a utility infrastructure construction and maintenance company,
as well as several nonprofit organizations including the United
Way of Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce and
Texas Health Resources Hospital Board.
He
holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration in Finance
and a Masters degree in Management and Administration from
Texas A&M University and is a graduate of Harvard Business
School Advanced Management Program and the U.S. Army Command
and General Staff College. In October 1999, Mr. Gibbs was
honored as an Outstanding Alumni-Lowry Mays College &
Graduate School of Business of Texas A&M University.
Mr.
Gibbs is married to Cynthia, his wife of 45 years. They have
two children and four granddaughters and are active in their
local church.
